Founded in 2011, the Cleburne Education Foundation is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose purpose is to seek and obtain revenue to develop and expand educational opportunities for the students and teachers of the Cleburne Independent School District. CEF is governed by a seven member Board of Directors with input and support from a 35 member Board of Advisors. All board members are volunteers. Day-to-day operations are overseen by an Executive Director, who, along with the Cleburne ISD Superintendent, serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

Revenue for Foundation programs is generated through fundraising activities such as the popular “Nashville Lights” event which brings songwriters for the top country singers to Cleburne each fall. Corporate, business and individual donations make up the balance of revenue which funds grants to certified staff and campuses within CISD to extend the educational resources available to promote instructional excellence in the classroom. Nearly $118,000 has been awarded to CISD through grants since 2012.
