Scholarships
In 2022, CEF added scholarships to its funding priorities. We believe it’s important to recognize our Cleburne ISD graduates as they continue their path to future success.
AVID Scholarship – AVID or Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college readiness program. At the secondary level, AVID is an application-based course that focuses on providing students with academic & systemic supports needed to achieve their post-secondary dreams.
Special consideration is given to students who are first-generation college students. Currently,
CEF awards two $1,000 scholarships to active AVID seniors.

Helmcamp Memorial Scholarship – The Helmcamp Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2022 following the passing of legendary CISD Golden Pride band director, Richard “Dick” Helmcamp. Helmcamp taught at Cleburne High School and served as the Golden Pride director from 1970 – 1994. CEF partners with Golden Pride Alumni and the Helmcamp family to honor the beloved educator. Currently, CEF awards two $2,500 scholarships to active Golden Pride seniors.

“I receive more than I give when I volunteer for the Cleburne Education Foundation. I know I’m giving my time to help make Cleburne schools the best that they can be, and that is very important to me. These kids are our future workforce and our leaders and they deserve our commitment.”
